PALS Support Network Was launched formally in September 2006. The acronym PALS stands for Professional, Amateur and Lay Support and the project is happening under the umbrella of the Open Door Project which is based in Civray. However the area covered is the whole of the Poitou-Charentes. We aim to give support to the English speaking community in such areas as bereavement, marriage support, family crisis, addiction, loneliness and isolation. We will continue to need more volunteers and would like to hear from anyone who feels that they have relevant experience and/or training (e.g. Cruse, Alcoholics Anonymous, Samaritans) and would be able to help.
